Why Israel?
Israel is a land and a people. The history of the Jewish people, and its roots in the Land of Israel, spans some 35 centuries. In this land, its cultural, national and religious identity was formed; here, its physical presence has been maintained unbroken throughout the centuries, even after the majority was forced into exile. With the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, Jewish independence, lost almost 2,000 years earlier, was renewed.
Israel, the only liberal democracy in the Middle East and a sacred site for many of the world’s religions, is internationally recognized for its scientific and financial achievements. With more than 25 percent of its workforce employed in technical professions, Israel has the world’s highest number of biotech startups per capita, as well as the target concentration of high-tech firms outside Silicon Valley.
Israel is a global leader in innovation in many of today’s most relevant fields – technology, healthcare, the environment, and business. According to the Council of Higher Education, it ranks fourth in the world in scientific activity, with more scientific publications per million than the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.
Thousands of years of history, a variety of ethnic communities living side by side, and an unending flow of international input via satellite and cable have contributed to the development of an Israeli culture that marries ancient with modern, local with global, and East and West to form a unique identity all its own. Cultural expression through the arts is as varied as the people themselves, with literature, theater, concerts, radio and television programming, entertainment, museums and galleries for every interest and taste.
The official languages of the country are Hebrew and Arabic, but many other languages can be heard in the country’s streets.

On the Masa Israel-accredited internship program, Career Israel, he was able to take part in a cutting-edge research project at Tel Aviv University and stay up-to-date in the field while applying for a masters degree in science high school education.
