Information for Parents

Career-minded young adults have discovered that Israel is the place to find real life experience in their chosen field before entering the workforce or going on to graduate school.

Employers and graduate schools place high value on international experience. In today’s competitive job market, and in the race to win acceptance into top graduate schools, the unparalleled, life-changing experiences offered by Masa Israel-affiliated internship, service, and academic programs can make the difference that leads to a successful future in any chosen career.

The only liberal democracy in the Middle East, Israel is internationally recognized for its scientific, technological and financial achievements. Israel has the world’s highest number of biotech startups per capita, as well as the largest concentration of high-tech firms outside of Silicon Valley. With such a high concentration of opportunities, Masa Israel participants can find and create experiences that contribute directly to their professional, academic or personal goals.

Safety and Security

The safety and security of program participants are top priorities of Masa Israel Journey. As a project of the Government of Israel and the Jewish Agency for Israel, Masa programs receive regularly updated information regarding safety and security and are able to adapt to official recommendations.

Masa Israel Journey maintains strict standards for safety and security in program housing and on all program sponsored activities.

Trip Logistics

Is my child accepted? When should s/he depart for Israel? When can our cousins in Israel visit my child? Where will my child be staying? Can they extend their stay in Israel?

ALL of these questions, and more, should be directed to the organizer of the program for which your child has signed up. Masa Israel Journey is the umbrella organization that provides the funding for and support for long-term programs in Israel, but the actual trips are operated by a wide variety of educational organizations.
